Eat, Drink & Be Married
Yesterday was one of the books!
Both the precious family time book, and the epic nights in New York City book.
My sister Amanda got engaged to my soon-to-be-brother-in-law Nick back in March. But because of my constant travel schedule, her busy life ruling in the fitness world in New York City, and her fiancé's demanding schedule as a Broadway star, we just had time to properly celebrate with them.
All things wedding related call for looking fabulous, so my sisters and I started our party prep with blow outs at Blo Blow Dry Bar!
Blo is my favorite place to get glam in New York City. The West Village location is just a short and lovely walk from my apartment. It also happens to be next to one of New York's yummiest restaurants - Rosemarys, in case you need a pre-glam focaccia.... who doesn't?
We had a lovely sisters afternoon with some bubbly, frosting, and a lot of beach waves!
The best part of blo is you can come in with sweaty workout hair (we sure did) and while you have fun girly time, they transform you into a #hairgoals goddess!
They had an awesome menu of options with everything from bombshell blowouts to dreamy braids - but we three blondes all went all out beachy.
Lisa, the owner, was so fun to hang out while we got pampered! Perhaps I'm biased, but I think Ohioans are the nicest people around.
Thanks to Lisa and the stylists at Blo Blow Dry Bar, I left with party-ready, glamorous hair.
But what to wear to my big sister's engagement party...?
Hmmm I love pink and she love stars. It seems like finding this dress was fate!
My family is huge: my amazing parents and five children! Oh, and don't forget our dogs. Dogs are family. Anyone who doesn't agree can quit reading.
There's family you are born with, and then family you find in life. I have been incredibly blessed in both areas! Our "New York family" are the Evans. I also call them fairygod family, Earth-walking angels, unicorns... Simply put, they are magic.
They hosted the most beautiful engagement party for Amanda in their midtown apartment.
We sipped vesper martinis, ate the prettiest passers, and had an epic dance party that broke up around midnight. (I apologize for in Instagram story!)
But best of all, we had a perfect sunset over Manhattan as we toasted to the happy couple.
I love traveling most of the year, but it is just as wonderful to be home with family.
